This is logo re-design was for Heather Gardens Senior Community living. The community has a monthly magazine that touches on community events, personal stories and services offered to it’s many residents. Their board of directors wanted to remake the orignal logo that was first created and has been used since the 1980’s. The logo was very out of date and there had been a demand to change it.
This logo redesign they wanted had many constraints. The new logo had to contain the colors green & Lavender. The New Logo also had to include “Heather n Yon” and also include some image reference to the Heather leaf plant.
I began by drawing out a quick ideas that came to mind immeadiatly. I had to first consider the clientele. These were seniors who grew up in a different world than me and have tastes that call back to a editorial style when newspapers where a daily morning ritual.
The final Logo has is currently being used by a senior living community with thousands of residents thourhgout the Denver Metro Area. This was one of themost challenging and rewarding logo desigins I have ever worked on because of the heavy constraints and parameters set by the clients. In the end it forced me to step outside of my comfort zone asnd depend heavily on on the client where im usually best being given full or most control of the design choices.
